Peggy HairEnglish Teacher: Seventh Grade
My initial impression of St. George was one of warmth and care. I love the kids, the small classes and the parent involvement. My fellow teachers and I are all about the kids. I love to read. I enjoy running and basketball (especially the Spurs). Because my father was in... Read more

Reading, Spelling, Writing Teacher: Fifth grade
Appointed in 2005
I chose to teach at St. George because I enjoy being an integral part of a small school community that encourages Christian values, has high academic standards and allows me to use my experience and developmental philosophy to nurture life-long learners. I left public school because the extreme emphasis on standardized testing did not fit with my philosophy of how children learn.
Even though I am a native Texan from San Antonio, I have enjoyed living in five other states. My heritage allows me to call myself a member of the FBI, which stands for full-blooded Italian, since both of my parents were Italian. Marrying a fellow Italian, Louis Siranni five years ago allowed me to retain both an Italian name and traditions. I have one daughter who is currently working on her masters at the University of Texas in Austin. She is majoring in Foreign Language Education. I have three stepchildren who are all Aggies, so that makes us a "house divided." I have two dogs, Fannie (a Huckaba pup) and Zooey, our surrogate children, who bring joy and frustration, just like kids! I love reading and I belong to a book club which meets monthly, and I love movies, walking, and I am "learning" to love fishing in the bay at Port Aransas.
I bring to my teaching experience in the form of knowledge of my subject, understanding of how children learn, and approachability that helps me to work well with students, parents, and colleagues.
